UX Process: Step 1 (Research & Understanding Data)
Before redesigning Anxiety Reliever, a survey has been sent out to users asking for their feedback on how the app can be improved. The focus was to really listen to what the current users wanted to see changed and improved in the app. Once data has been gathered from the survey, previous feedback emails and ux task recordings and research scripts have been revisited and reanalyzed, data from mixpanel has been reviewed for the previous years then the design direction has been set. Anxiety Reliever will become a platform for subscribing to a variety of different mental health content and features. Broadening the user base of the application!
Design Process was: User Research → Wireframe → Prototype → Test → Refine Prototype → In-depth User Testing → Analyzing → UI → Animations → Hand-off To Developers
Step 2 : Testing The Prototype
Once the first set of wireframes and prototypes were done, it was time to test with a first group of 5 users who use the app on a daily basis and agreed to participate in the testing. That video testing helped to refine the prototype and indicate possible loop holes in the design that need fixing.
Feature #2: Insightful Mental Health Tracker
Step 3 & 4: Refine The Prototype and More User Testing
Once the prototype has been updated, it was time to test again. This time with fifteen individuals split into 5 groups. Each user task has been recorded for later analysis and reflection. Based on the data gathered plus the feedback from a clinician who also tested the app, the app was ready for final iteration of the prototype.
Step 4 & 5: UI, Animation and Development
Once the prototype has been finalized, it was time to polish the UI and create animations. Once those have been ready, I conducted a third round of testing with five more people afterwards I made minor tweaks to the UI and the design was ready to be handed off to developers.
